Players Shows
At Players, we try to make our shows as accessible as possible so more people can come and enjoy them! For every show, we have a list of content warnings which is normally released a week before a show goes up. You will be able to find them here on our website or by emailing our productions officer, Naomi (productions@duplayers.com).
Relaxed Showings
One of our showings of each show every week is a relaxed showing. This means that our theatre and the nature of the show has been adapted to be more welcoming and accessible to people with additional needs. Some changes that are made to shows include altered lighting, volume of sound, arrangement of venue. Audience members are allowed to get up and move around freely, as well as make noise if they want to/feel the need to. These showings are publicised well in advance to make sure people know that they are happening.
Events
At every event, at least two of our committee members will be sober officers who you can go to should you have any issues, questions or concerns. All our events also have a respite/quiet space located either in one of our dressing rooms or the rehearsal room which is clearly signed, on the third floor of the Players building. We recommend keeping an eye out on our social media and the website for more info on each individual event and details on accessibility!! To find out more about event accessibility, please email our ents officer Raina, (ents@duplayers.com) or our chair, Fiona (chair@duplayers.com)
Feel free to email info@duplayers.com or chair@duplayers.com if you have any questions or concerns regarding accessibility!
